Yahoo! GeoCities - Now under Yahoo!'s command, this is the Internet's largest free home page provider. Here, you will receive 15MB of Web space plus a short URL resembling something similar to: "www.geocities.com/yourname". New users will find their online Web site creating tool useful and there's even an option to upload custom designs. However, FTP access is no longer supported here.

Tripod - Owned by Lycos, Tripod is probably the second largest free homepage provider. Despite its popularity, we've never been really impressed with the overall quality of their hosting. Tripod's free services are advert supported and you may choose between pop-ups or embedded adverts when registering. 20MB of space is offer here, along with an online page creator (ideal for beginners).

Webhostme.com - Register with this bright hosting provider and you'll receive 20MB of free Web space, FrontPage support, ASP support, MS-Access database support, a Web based e-mail account and unlimited traffic. If you already have your own ".com" name, they provide free, ad-supported hosting for domains as well. Otherwise, your URL is: "yourname.webhostme.com".

Angelfire - Here's another veteran free Web page provider, brought to you by the search-giant, Lycos. Angelfire provides users with a generous 20MB of storage space, online site building tools and has plenty of goodies to help you announce your Internet home to the world. FreebieList.com has had numerous reports that this service is quite reliable as far as free Web hosts go nowadays.

Megspace.com - Offers 50MB Web space, unlimited bandwidth, no monthly fees, free add-ons (e.g. message boards), fast servers, a site upload manager and professional technical support. Please note that you are required to display a banner advertisement on your pages, in exchange for the free service they are providing. Your URL here would resemble: "megspace.com/business/username".

RedRival.com - Amongst other "paid" packages, RedRival.com offers a free service, providing 20MB of free Web space, SSI/XSSI scripting, an e-mail address and FTP access. The "free" package offered here is advertisement supported and they use various forms of adverts, such as banners, pop-ups, etc. They also offer a "browser upload" facility as an alternative to FTP.

Freeservers.com - Freeservers.com offers short, easy to remember sub-domains and e-mail accounts, such as yoursite.freeservers.com (and many more besides). They provide 12MB of free Web space, e-mail forwarding and also various page building tools that are ideal for new Webmasters. Please note: the service is ad-supported and no longer offers direct FTP access.

FortuneCity.com - FortuneCity.com offers 25 megabytes of free Web space to all of its members and they provide a number of free Web building tools which are easy to use for beginners, but also sophisticated enough for advanced Webmasters. Their free e-mail service is no longer available. Includes FTP access and basic tech-support. FortuneCity.com is advertisement supported.

50Megs.com - Sign up now and enjoy a massive 50MB of free Web space to host your site on. 50Megs.com also offers a free submission service that will help you get listed in the top search engines. And, unlike many other free Web hosting services that are gradually limiting features, 50Megs.com offers attractive sub-domains, e.g. "yourname.50megs.com" and a file manager.

FreeHomePage.com - A free homepage provider, offering free sub-domain names and also hosting for top-level domains (e.g. ".com" or ".net".) If you opt for free sub-domain hosting, your Web address will resemble: yourname.freehomepage.com. They provide 12MB of Web space, Web templates and other goodies, plus the chance to upgrade. This service is advert supported.
